Geneology Information

August 22, 2008

I was going through my PAF and I find that I’m missing some information on some of the great grandchildren.  I hope some of you out in cyber space will answer my questions.  First of all let me say that I need full names and the entire place where someone was born (city, county and state).  With that said, here is what I’m missing:

1.  Angela’s fourth child, Dylan (name, birth date and place)

2.  Sarah’s son, Ethan (birthdate and place)

3.  The county in which Ryan’s kids and Tyson’s son were born

4.  Lisa’s second child (everything)

5. Where Kim’s daughter was born

Camping

August 21, 2008

Last friday the 15th Cortney called me from work at about 11 and said “Hey lets go up to your moms trailer(Green Acres) and eat.”  I told him that if I was going to pack all the kids up and drive the 45 minutes to get there that we were going to stay overnight and not just eat.  I probably should have thought this through a little more before telling Cortney and the kids.  Getting all the food, sleeping bags, warm clothes together and 4 kids ready to go was a little more than I bargained for.  We finally got everything packed into “Vinnie Man” and left Ephraim about 6:30(hour and half later than I wanted) and arrived at Green Acres at about 7:15.  Cortney got the fire started and we roasted hot dogs(no marshmallows because I forgot to pack them).  Then we played some games and set up for bed.  Ashton and the twins did suprisingly well.  They all went to sleep without any problems and slept through the night until about 8 Saturday morning.  Dylan on the other hand was a different story.  I neglected to pack a pacifier and he kept waking up about every 30 minutes screaming because he didn’t know where he was and he wasn’t in a crib(we tried to put him in between us on the queen bed).  The next morning was great.  Cortney cooked breakfast and then the family went for a walk while I packed the car.  Everyone loved it and we are excited to go back soon.  This time with a little more planning.

Family Reunion in Nauvoo

August 12, 2008

I’m so excited that we’re going to have a family reunion in Nauvoo.  I’d be excited if we had one anywhere, but I’m glad that it’s kind of close to our family for a change.  We are going to Nauvoo in September on our way to visit Kari in Missouri and we plan to stay the night there and go throug a session in the Nauvoo Temple.  We can check around town and get some first hand knowelge of places to stay.  There are several individual houses that you can rent out that will hold many people.  They have kitchens and washers and dryers and so forth.  From what little research I’ve done on them, it looks like they cost approximately $30.00 a night per person.  This is more than the cost of the camp, but it might be good to have a place to go where we can cook for everyone and gather.  It would be nice to all stay in the same place, but Bill and I have decided that we’re too old to camp anymore, and we would like to stay in a more comfortable place.  There are also motels there, and we can check them out while we’re there in September too.  This blog is a perfect place to get everyone’s input on it, so join in and let your voice be heard!
