Boy or Girl??
January 26, 2009It’s a GIRL!! Congrats to those of you who figured out the ultrasound. The doctor said it is definitely a girl. Not only did she say there was definitely no boy parts, she could actually pick out the girl parts. So there you have it, we are having a girl. Not a lacey, ruffled, pink wearing girl mind you, but a get down in the dirt and wrestle with the boys kind of girl. Just wanted you all to be prepared in advance so when you see in her jeans and a tshirt you won’t be surprised. Don’t expect her to be in dresses/skirts or have giant bows in her hair because as most of you know, that is totally not me. Jake has assured me that girly-girls aren’t born that way, they are made that way so I am keeping my fingers crossed it never happens! Now all I have to worry about is agreeing with Jake on a name…
(ultrasound diagram below for those who had no idea what they were looking at)

OH MY GOSH! I guess that’s yet another good reason I didn’t go into the medical profession…
CONGRATS!
I KNEW IT! I remember when we had our ultrasound with Noah and I asked how they could tell the difference and our tech said that girl parts look like three fingers about the same size and boy parts…well, they stick out. Awesome! Congrats! I think I might send you frilly baby clothes for fun and then you HAVE to use them b/c I’m family
I’m sure most frilly girls are brought up that way, but there are a few who are predisposed to it. I think I’ve raised all my girls about the same, but I know that Chelsea likes to be girlie a lot more than Alexis and Makayla. She loves to put on make-up and paint her nails and she wears dresses and skirts to school as much as she can. I don’t know why she turned out that way, but she did.
